Father Al Esposito
Father Al Esposito was born in Brooklyn, NY. His parents were both Italian: Louis H. Esposito, a World War II veteran, and Anna P. Esposito, a seamstress and dress maker. Father Al began the study of the violin at the age of nine and received his bachelors and masters degrees in music performance.
At the age of 32, he left his beloved music career to respond to Jesus’ invitation to become a priest. He attended Saint Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary and received both his Masters of Divinity and Masters of Sacred Theology degrees. Father Al was ordained by Bishop John J. Snyder in May of 2001. He has done post-graduate studies at the Institute of Priestly Formation’s continuing education program in spirituality and spiritual direction at Mundelein Seminary near Chicago.
Father Al served as Associate Pastor at Queen of Peace Parish in Gainesville, FL and San Jose Parish in Jacksonville, FL. In July of 2008, he was appointed Pastor of Santa Maria del Mar in Flagler Beach, FL by Bishop Victor Galeone. Father Al is dedicated to Stewardship as a Way of Life and has a strong interest in the great mystics of the Church, especially Saint Bonaventure, Saint Teresa of Avila, and Julian of Norwich. He is honored to be with the staff of Santa Maria del Mar today.
